Just been alerted to the publication of the Horizon Report produced by New Media Consortium (NMC) and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) (thanks to UoL blog http://uollibraryblog.wordpress.com/) and it's talk of emerging technologies that will impact higher education:
"The areas of emerging technology cited for 2009 are:
• Mobiles (i.e., mobile devices)
• Cloud computing
• Geo-everything (i.e., geo-tagging)
• The personal web
• Semantic-aware applications
• Smart objects"
